The SOS Coalition is pleased to announce that Peter Spadafore, assistant director of government relations for the Michigan Association of School Boards, will be joining Tom White at the helm of the effort to save our students, schools and state.
Spadafore brings experience working with the legislature to advance public education and enact meaningful reforms to help districts operate more efficiently. SOS will continue to mobilize school communities to promote needed changes in how schools and state services are funded and operate.
“I look forward to the challenges this opportunity presents and am excited to work with such a broad coalition of dedicated individuals,” said Spadafore. “There’s still a lot of work to be done to transform Michigan’s education system.”
The SOS Coalition will continue to advocate for restructured state and K-12 revenues and will work to provide budget stability to Michigan’s schools. The upcoming months will include a concerted effort to amend Michigan’s Constitution to reflect the intent of the voters to fund only their local and intermediate school districts through Proposal A. Stay tuned for updates from SOS in the weeks to come on this exciting new chapter in our history.
