We’ve changed the MDE/MSBO Workshop to allow more time for discussion of these recent events:
- The Legislative Update with MASB's Don Wotruba has been extended to give him adequate time to cover all the changes, including what's coming up next.
- Kevin Harty, from Thrun Law Firm, has been to the agenda to discuss the implications of the “claims data” legislation.
- Michael Flanagan, Superintendent of Public Instruction, will discuss what we need to do to prepare students for the 21st century workplace.
- A session on the Uniform Budgeting and Accounting Act and dealing with emergency financial management.
- Dan Hanrahan will present on changes in the State Aid Act which are expect to be completed by then.

This workshop is designed to provide participants with all the materials they will need to implement four MIOSHA written programs: Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, and Confined Space. All materials will also be included on CD-ROM to allow for district customization.

Districts have incurred substantial expenses in recent years over the mishandling of hazardous materials. Learn to identify and manage hazardous materials in the workplace. Hear strategies to inventory, control, and dispose of hazardous chemicals safely and in accordance with the law. This can help your district avoid unnecessary costs and provide a healthier.
