In an effort to review and update certain certification programs, the MSBO Professional Development Committee recommended and the MSBO Board of Directors adopted the following changes to MSBO’s certification programs:
Chief Financial Officer, Business Office Manager, Business Office Specialist, Information Systems/Technology for the Business Manager: After reviewing the content of Information Systems and Technology for the Business Manager, the committee determined the courses were similar due to the integration of technology with business office applications. The committee recommended to drop the Information Systems class as a requirement and added Collective Bargaining Agreement, Contracts. This class will be offered at the MSBO Annual Conference on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 to accommodate anyone needing to fulfill this new requirement.
Food Service Director: Removed the Insurance and Risk Management course and replaced it with Performance Evaluations for Personnel.
Transportation Director: A more collaborative effort between MSBO and MAPT has taken place for the Transportation Director Certification. If you are already in the program, we have made a significant effort to make changes in your favor. You should have received a letter describing these changes.
